Programs in World Trade and Tourism

Rationale

Despite the continuing political instability in many regions of the world, tourism is one the world’s largest industries with current annual revenue estimated at $500 billion and a projected growth rate of 4.6 percent per year between 2003 and 2013. The increase of leisure time and disposable income of many people, lower cost of air travel, fierce competition, and especially opening of the emerging economies such as China, are expected to secure a promising future for tourism markets. These developments call, however, for highly skilled professionals who could seize arising opportunities and create new value.

To enhance tourism education standards, both locally and globally, WTU is addressing the need for training and developing new cadres of professionals through the following programs:

  1. The Executive MBA in Tourism

  2. The Executive Development Program in Tourism

These Programs are designed for the professionals in tourism & hospitality businesses, policymakers & officials, tourism educators & trainers, the professionals from the interregional organizations with interest in tourism & hospitality industry, and industry executives & representatives of multinational firms.

The Executive MBA in Tourism will benefit the beginning professionals.

The Executive Development Program serves the needs of the middle- and upper-level managers.
