Despite
the continuing political instability in many regions of the
world, tourism is one the world’s largest industries with
current annual revenue estimated at $500 billion and a projected
growth rate of 4.6 percent per year between 2003 and 2013. The
increase of leisure time and disposable income of many people, lower cost of air travel, fierce
competition, and especially opening of the emerging
economies
such as China, are expected to secure a promising future for
tourism markets. These developments call, however, for highly
skilled professionals who
could seize arising opportunities and create new value.
To
enhance tourism education standards, both locally and globally,
