International  Opportunities Created at the 8th WSYE

Joint Venture Partnerships
 

54 international joint ventures were signed on the spot in Brussels at the 8th WSYE with values ranging from US$20,000 to US$2,000,000. 

International Trade Centre Business Sector Round-Table (BSRT)
  The Institute for Leadership Development (ILD) invited 25 young entrepreneurs from LDCs to participate in the International Trade Centre Business Sector Round-Table (BSRT) hosted by ITC, in collaboration with UNCTAD and the ILD during the 3rd UN Conference for Least Developed Countries. The main objective of the event was to bring export/import opportunities and experiences in the products/sectors of greatest potential to the attention of LDC exporters, international buyers and investors and to help integrate them into export strategy formulation processes in LDCs.
The Global Compact for Small and Medium Enterprises and Small and Medium Industries (SMEs/SMIs)
  A partnership between the Institute for Leadership Development and the Executive Office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Global Compact for SMEs/SMIs was launched during the 8th World Summit of Young Entrepreneurs.
The World Trade University
  The World Trade University was launched at the 3rd UN Conference on Least Developed Countries during the 8th World Summit of Young Entrepreneurs.  The World Trade University (WTU) is created to define, shape and influence the most timely issues of trade; to promote rule-based trade; and to facilitate a mechanism for human resources and institutional capacity building by engaging professionals in and practitioners of trade from least developed, developing, emerging economies and developed countries for better management of globalization thus enhancing shared prosperity.
