WHO WE ARE

History & Mission
 

World Trade University is a United Nations global partnership mechanism launched at the Third United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries, hosted by the European Union, Brussels in May 2001, engaging the European Union; Agencies of the UN including the Executive Office of the Secretary-General, UNCTAD, and UNDP; World Trade Organization; Commonwealth Secretariat; and Departments of the Government of Canada. WTU is an interlocking organization comprising academic programs, global platforms, and related services. These elements operate together to assist WTU in achieving its mission:

  to enhance the capacity of the present and to develop the potential of future trade leaders to better manage the challenges of multilateral trading system so that prosperity is shared.
