WELCOME TO THE WORLD TOURISM MARKETING SUMMIT!

Destination Nanjing, China - The 1st World Tourism Marketing Summit, November 21-23, 2004

With over 56 ethnic groups and 29 global cultural and natural heritage sites, China’s tourism industry is growing rapidly along with its reform and modernization drive. A key to China’s success in the global tourism industry is to continue to learn from best practices in marketing, to share knowledge with global experts, and to develop strategic global partnership for human and institutional capacity building in tourism. The World Tourism Marketing Summit (WTMS) is an ongoing United Nations Global Partnership Platform designed to facilitate advancements in promoting Chinese tourism globally. The 2004 WTMS will be held in Nanjing, China, November 21-23, 2004. The WTMS will feature foreign speakers and presenters with tremendous expertise in global tourism and will act as a forum for discussions regarding the challenges and prospects in China’s tourism marketing sector.

WTU's Educational Programs in Tourism

Tourism is one the world’s largest industries due to the increase of leisure time and disposable income of many people, lower cost of air travel and fierce but healthy competition. Also recent opening of the emerging economies such as China is expected to secure a promising future for tourism markets. Thus there is a need for highly skilled entrepreneurs who could seize arising opportunities and create new value.

To enhance tourism education standards, both locally and globally, WTU is addressing the current need for training and developing new cadres of professionals through the following programs:

1. The Executive MBA in Tourism

2. The Executive Development Program in Tourism

The Executive MBA in Tourism will benefit the beginning professionals.  

The Executive Development Program serves the needs of the middle- and upper-level managers.
